Pierre-Louis Lemaire

Hi, I'm Pierre-Louis Lemaire, currently a research intern @ Mila supervised by David Rolnick and Alex Hernandez-Garcia, working on geographical transferability of deep-learning based precipitation downscaling models. I recently graduated from a research MSc. in Applied Mathematics at Polytechnique Montréal supervised by Julie Carreau and Youssef Diouane. Prior to coming in Montréal in September 2023, I was studying applied mathematics at INSA Toulouse in France.

My current research project involves using deep learning for precipitation downscaling to km-scale, focusing on enhancing geographical generalization skills of AI models. More broadly, I'm interested in developing physics-informed machine learning models for climate modeling.
